Product Description The FitFlop "Electra" Sandal brings some shine to this clever sandal with a sequin upper. How does the FitFlop make you fitter? Every step you take in the FitFlop helps tone and trim your legs, improve your muscle tone, increase muscle activity and circulation, improve your balance and posture, and burn calories. In fact, FitFlops are biochemically engineered to absorb shock, lessen joint strain and recreate the gait of barefoot walking-but with a powerful new built-in microwobbleboard workout-enhancing effect.

Seven Reasons Why Everyone is Wearing FitFlops | - FitFlop midsoles incorporate patent-pending micro-wobbleboard™ technology, to give you a workout while you walk.
Developed by Darren James and Dr David Cook at LSBU, the FitFlop's unique safely-tapered midsole places varying densities of EVA under your feet each time you step, to challenge the support and balance muscles of the foot and leg. - They challenge hard to reach muscles more.
FitFlops are engineered with a multi-density midsole that stimulates your muscles more while you're wearing them. In independent University testing, FitFlops have been shown to trigger increase gluteal muscle response, increased hamstring response, increase rectus femoris (thigh) response and increased calf muscle response. - Every step you take in your FitFlops helps tone and trim your legs.
Studies at Salford University by Dr. Philip Graham-Smith and Richard Jones have shown that the FitFlop midsole extends the amount of time that the slow twitch* muscles are engaged during each step (by approximately 10-12%). So just by wearing a pair of FitFlops you'll get more exercise while doing just exactly what you're normally doing. *slow twitch muscles produce energy by converting fats into energy aerobically - FitFlops work your bum muscles more.
FitFlops have been proven to increase the amount of time that the gluteus maximus muscle is 'activated' during every single step. - FitFlops have been shown to have a significant effect on the toning muscles of your thighs.
The rectus femoris muscle (one of the large muscles in the group of muscles in your thigh) is activated for a longer period of time while walking in FitFlops than while normally shod or barefoot. - Walking in FitFlops is like walking barefoot, but a little bit better.
According to a study done at the University of Salford in Manchester, UK, the FitFlop wearer's gait is very similar to that of a barefoot walker, but the added cushion provided by the EVA midsole helps reduce joint strain and absorb shock. In fact, several FitFlop wearers have already reported relief from back pain after a few days of wearing them. - FitFlops make it easier to stay in shape. Just throw them on while you're running errands, walking to work, or working around your house. Most first-time FitFlop wearers report feeling their muscles working more, while 'fitter' wearers feedback has been more toward great comfort and cushion. One woman reported feeling like she'd had a 'bum-blasting' workout after a half an hour of FitFlop-shod walking.

So you're secretly working out—while cleaning the house, running errands, or strolling through your favorite stores with friends—without disrupting your busy lifestyle.

Not comfy for me July 27, 2010 Christine Park These are cuter and more formal than the Walkstar 3 and I had wanted to wear them to work but they were not comfy at all. Compared to the Walkstar 3, these are less cushion-y and comfy to the feet and have less support on top of the feet to "hold" your feet in place as you walk. I must have narrow feet too b/c the straps were too big on me.
Still recovering 3 1/2 weeks later July 27, 2010 R. J. H. Staats (Bolingbrook, IL USA) I bought these Fitflops for a 4 day trip to Las Vegas and wore them around the house before taking them on our trip. Within 30 minutes on The Strip the t-strap on these Fitflops put a pencil-sized hole in the top of my second toe and I was unable to wear the Fitflops, regular flip flops and my gladiators on the trip. I had to wear gym shoes with my cute dresses, but then again I'm lucky I had something to wear period. I suppose the bottoms of my feet didn't hurt that much (after 2 hours of wear) in comparison to the gaping hole in my toe. Needless to say, I returned them when we got back from our trip. One tube of Neosporin later and I am still recovering.
Painful b/w toes and too bulky and big July 2, 2010 Elizabeth (USA) The bottom of these is comfortable and soft. However, the strap between the toes is very uncomfortable and stiff and painful when walking. They are also big sizes. I usually wear a 7 and ordered a 7, but should have ordered a 6 because they were too big and loose. I returned after wearing at home for 1 day. The strap between the toes was rubbing between my toes and basically couldn't walk in them for more than 10 minutes.
So far so good July 1, 2010 Jennifer L Brower (West Chester, PA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just received my Fit Flops yesterday and have been wearing them all day today. I am normally a size 8 and purchased a size 7 after reading reviews the shoe runs big and talking to a friend who also purchased a whole size down. The 7's fit like an 8 normally would so I was happy about that decision. As for comfort, I am only having an issue with my left foot (right foot is totally comfortable...weird). The strap in between the toes is rubbing but it's not intolerable...I've definitely worn flip flops that are more painful. The other issue with the left flop is where the outter edge of the decorative top part hits the top arch of my foot it feels like it's bruising my foot a bit. Not sure why this would be happening on my left foot and not my right...all I can think is that my feet are not the same size and therefore this part of the shoe is not sitting on the same part of my foot on the right. I'm still happy with the shoes overall and will keep wearing them in the hopes that the left one breaks in and becomes as comfortable as the right one. Not sure there were be any "fit" value to these flops as advertised, but if so, that will just be a nice surprise.
Really comfy! June 22, 2010 M. Robb (Pittsburgh, PA) if you can't wear most flip flops, try these - as other reviewers mentioned, they run a little large so go down a half-size if you can. You can wear them all day and walk miles and your feet will still feel great!
