Amazing Shoe July 22, 2010 Kenneth Allen Hixson I got these shoes a short while ago after a few of my friends kept raving about how comfortable and free their feet felt. I am a believer now. They are definitely one of the most unique looking pieces of footwear out there however they are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I don't like shoes and prefer to be barefoot whenever possible. Now I just wear these everywhere. They are so liberating and sometimes I forget that I am even wearing a shoe. Very comfortable and I will definitely be getting a few more pairs and at least 2 of the additional styles that they offer for other activities. I wear them as a daily show now and have no complaints.

1) After training for half and full marathons for years, I have slowly developed all sorts of injuries.
2) Like most other runners dealing with nagging injuries, I began looking for alternatives to running.
3) Nothing I found satisfied my addiction to running!
4) Like most others, I read the book.. Born to Run! If you haven't, you better!
5) I began running true barefoot for approx 2 months (obviously had to reduce mileage at first due to blisters)
6) One by one, all my nagging injuries went away. ALL OF THEM!!!
7) I needed some type of shoe that would give me the same feeling as true barefoot and found the vibram 5s.
8) I don't feel the need to run true barefoot anymore, since I can get the same benifits from my vibrams.
Now the negatives... It took some time to break in the vibrams. I first had to go back and get a bigger size since they run a bit small. I went from a 40 to a 41. Make sure you walk around the house and take them out for frequent walks before running in them. I did this for a week or so and found they were broken in perfectly. Just like true barefoot running, be very careful to lift your feet and knees on each step. Yesterday I draged a toe and tore the top of the vibrams. They will rip easily. I simply took them back and got a new pair. Overall, I love them! I almost hate to run in them now, cause I am afraid to rip them. But I know the consequences of true barefoot; blisters. If your on the fence, buy them. You won't regret it!
Love this things June 25, 2010 Nicolas Varas Castillo 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love my Five Fingers. I stopped using my running shoes when I got into barefoot running (which I did for some time. I got my soles much thicker, but still they weren't enough for a piece of glass that cut my foot).
Even when barefoot running does absolute sense to me from a biomechanical and evolutionary point of view, clearly shattered glass on concrete floor is something that evolution has not given us resistance against.
The only BUT my shoes had, that would have taken a star away from this review (but was compensated by the fact that you get stopped in the street and asked questions, or by hearing people nearby whisper to their friends "look at that!" or "those are the ones I told you about" ) is that if you close the strap tightly, the rubber sole will rub against the inside of your foot and eventually give you a blister of small wound that will prevent you from using your shoes in at least a week, until your skin recovers. I thought that adjusting them tightly would prevent rubbing, but it happens to be the other way around. I found out accidentally, since there's no warning in the manual.
You have to close the velcro strap loosly, just enough to the the shoe in place, and It won't hurt your feet. Never had the problem ever since. If this happens to you, now you know.
Now, for the running part, it takes time to get used to them, since it's so different. My calves are sore sometimes after running, but in a way that gives you peace of mind, knowing that that soreness is the impact you saved your knee and hip joints.
Go Vibram! And if you can (at least on the beach or grass), truly barefoot!

I normally would be the one raving on and on about how wonderful these shoes are. Everything everyone has said about this shoes are true. Once you wear them, it's hard to go back, specially if you're into martial arts or mat workouts like Pilates or Yoga. Beware! The quality is horrible. I got my girlfriend the lady's classics. They started to come undone at the seam that runs along the big toe on the left shoe after only a week! My Men's KSO cracked along the bottom of the big toe after 3 weeks! I used them for martial arts training and my girlfriend for Yoga and Pilates. They were use indoors. This products are advertise as all terrain! Too add insult to injury, the place I order it from said,"Sorry, we'll give you a [...] coupon." [...] is not good enough when I'm out on [...]! Honestly, I expected more support from [...] customer service. These two products have been with me for less than 3 weeks. This is faulty quality that a customer should not be chastise for. At this point there is no way I could possibly reorder anymore of this products for myself or my love ones. If their just a distributor they should have a back up plan with the manufacturer regarding poor quality. These are not cheaply price shoes to perform so poorly. I order from those guys with the best of intentions and hoping to develop some kind of relation. Now I truly feel betrayed.
Beware of counterfeits June 12, 2010 Neil J. Gulino (Seattle) 7 out of 13 found this review helpful
These are fakes!!! I am a huge Fivefinger fan and I can't beleive Amazon allows these thieves to utilize their site to peddle these fakes. The only place you can purchase real VFF is from authorized dealers. Check out their site for ligitamate dealers. There is a huge difference between these fakes and the real thing. Don't contribute to illegal practice
