Very hard to put on May 13, 2010 B. Otis (VT, USA) I bought these shoes for my 1 year old son. I had really liked the robeez crib shoes but he was starting to walk so we needed more grip. These shoes are VERY hard to get on his feet because of the way they're made. The crib shoes have elastic that allows them to stretch to go on his feet. These Mini Shoez do not have this elastic. We rarely wear these shoes because it takes over 5 minutes of tugging and pushing to get his heel into the shoe. I would not buy these shoes again. But I love the robeez crib shoes and plan to buy another pair.
good and cute shoes April 16, 2010 Berengere Guerlavais (boston. MA) these shoes are really cute and easy to put on. it's a great gift !
great fit, durable, flexible, comfortable, and very cute March 17, 2010 theof We've gotten a lot of compliments on these shoes (pink version), and our daughter loves them. She's had them for almost 3 months now, and the design of the shoe has allowed her to wear them as she grows, unlike other shoes which have fit for a few weeks before she grew out of them. Someone posted here that the shoe cut off circulation to her kid's foot because it was too tight around the ankle. I wonder if she was reviewing the wrong pair of shoes, because although there is an elastic along the back of the shoe, the front is just a tongue and the adjustable velcro strap. You can't tell from the photo, but there are I think two elastics and then the velcro strap, so the shoe stays on without being too tight. The velcro attaches to the tongue as well, so there's no bunching or slipping. It's a very well-designed shoe. The overall construction is sturdy but comfortable, which is good because our daughter is very adept at escaping from shoes she doesn't like.
It may be worth noting that my daughter's feet are unusually long and slim, so I'm not sure how these shoes would fit the chubby bear paws one typically sees on babies.
great shoes for a little one learning to walk February 20, 2010 Silea (Portland, OR) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son is in the cruising stage, using anything (or anyone) to pull himself up to stand, and holding himself up with his hands while he walks. Unfortunately, our hardwood floors and his socks (even the ones with little treads on them) were a slippery combination. These shoes solved that problem immediately.
It takes a little jiggering to get them on (my best method so far is: 1) open the shoe and shove it on as far as it'll go, 2) pull the tongue of the shoe toward the toddler's ankle, 3) use the tab on the back of the shoe to pull it over the toddler's heel, at which point the foot should be in all the way, 4) smooth down the tongue, and seal the velcro), but they stay on. My son had never found a sock, shoe, boot, or other foot covering he couldn't remove in under 10 seconds until he met these.
The soles are very thin rubber, so the wearer can still feel the ground and have full range of motion, which is very important when learning to walk. They probably won't hold up through extensive wear and tear, but by the time your kid is a fluent walker and running, you should probably be using different shoes anyway.
Great easy slip on shoes! February 6, 2010 Lorin E. Carnwath I like the way these shoes are easy to put on my baby. He is very active when it comes to dressing him, so shoes can be a pain to put on him. These Robeez shoes also match everything he has, since he grows fast we just got one pair to try. I will buy this brand again when the next size comes. Great shoes!
