I purchased this pair of Dr. Marten Chard sandals and had to return them. They were purchased for my niece, Marilyn who wears a size 6.5 shoe. I had read many reviews, most of which recommended buying a half size smaller. Taking that advice, I choice a size 6. Though the shoe was very comfortable, it was too wide and a bit too big. I wear a size 7M and they fit me perfectly, maybe a size 5 would be a better fit for her because I could not find a 5.5. Also, I don't know if the extra width is common with the Chard slide or all Dr. Martens slides/sandals.
